According to Furie, he created Bird Dog as a way to introduce a character into the series that was based off... himself! Bird dog was supposed to be Matt Furie in his younger days. In his first appearance, Bird Dog delivers a pizza to the Boys Club house and is invited to stick around and smoke some weed with the group. He quickly becomes a regular character in the series, known for his chill demeanor and love of pizza.
